Our Vision Statement

Whom We Serve

We serve individuals and families across San Diego County who are tfacing food insecurity, lack of access to resources, or are simply being overlooked by larger systems. Our work prioritizes:

  • Low-income families
  • Unhoused and housing-insecure individuals
  • Single mothers and caregivers
  • Immigrants, refugees, and asylum seekers
  • LGBTQ+ and gender-diverse individuals
  • Seniors and people with disabilities
  • Undocumented or unrecognized workers
  • Anyone struggling to access fresh, nutritious food

We intentionally focus on neighborhoods and communities that are often ignored, bringing food and essential items directly to the people — no questions asked, no forms required, and no judgment.

If you’re hungry, underserved, or just need support — you are who we serve.

About Us:

Meals by M.O.M. (Moving Our Mission) and Stand Up to Our Perpetrators, Nonprofit Organization, women-led community initiatives based in San Diego, dedicated to food justice, empowerment, and support for underserved populations. We began our journey in 2021, driven by lived experience and a deep commitment to uplifting communities that are too often overlooked. While our nonprofit has been active since 2021, our mobile food pantry and pop-up grocery program officially launched in July 2024 — providing fresh, rescued, and donated food in a flexible, community-first way. ⸻ What We Do In 2025, our mobile pantry pops up every Friday and Sunday in public spaces around San Diego — sometimes at beaches, school parking lots, libraries, or underserved neighborhoods.

Our team announces pop-up times and locations on social media and the Nextdoor app, inviting neighbors to come by once we’ve set up. We focus on areas that are ignored by larger food programs, bringing nourishment, dignity, and support directly to the people. Our mobile method of food redistribution is the only one of its kind currently operating in this way in San Diego. To join our growing community, text us to get on our interest list — include your name, area, and any urgent needs. We’re creating a waiting list, and will prioritize neighborhoods with the most requests and the fewest existing resources. ⸻ What We Offer We are more than just a food rescue program. Our broader mission is about redistributing power, not just food. Our current offerings include:
• Weekend Mobile Food Pantry (Fridays & Sundays, with hopes of expanding!) Free Clothing (for infants, children, and adults — when Available) Entrepreneurship Training for women to start their own businesses • Job Readiness Support • English Tutoring and Literacy Assistance for those seeking to improve their language skills, Resume Assistance and confidence ⸻ Looking Ahead By 2026, we aim to bring direct-to-door food delivery to as many communities as possible — making food access truly convenient and stigma-free. With your help, we hope to expand to multiple days a week and grow both our services and reach. ⸻ Join Us Whether you’re in need, want to volunteer, or wish to help us grow, you’re welcome here. Contact us by text (619-877-4013) to join our service list or to request a visit to your community. Together, we move the mission — one neighborhood, one family, one meal at a time.
